The Nightmare

A couple of weeks ago, I was at work working away, when I get a call from Trevor, saying that I need to come get him and take him to the ER because his kidney was hurting really bad again. All i can think of is "oh great here goes another kidney stone." He scared me with this same thing right after we got back from our honeymoon... So I rush to the house to get him and we quickly rush to the hospital (Almost getting into an accident - let me add). We get there and it takes them FOREVER to even get Trevor on some pain medication for his horrible pain. The poor guy was sitting there doubled over in tears because the pain was so horrible. Finally, we were able to get some pain medication for him and he started to relax. The doctor comes in and tells us that he has a kidney stone lodged in his ureter, that is 8 mm, and that there is also ANOTHER kidney stone waiting up in his kidney to come down that is 8 mm too! So we were both like "GREAT." Anyways, the doctor gave us the option of being transfered to another Banner hospital to see the urologist and have a procedure to get the stones blasted and out of there (the urologist on-call was not at the Banner hospital that we were at) or Trevor could just go home on pain medication and he could try and pass the stone. Did they not realize that his stones were 8 mm long??? THERE WAS NO WAY HE WAS GOING TO PASS THE STONES... STUPID.. We decided that we wanted to be transfered to get the procedure done and get the stones blasted right away. We were pretty set on what we wanted to do. Little did we know, the urologist at the other hospital was making a plan of his own. The doctor comes back in and says that the urologist said that he does not want to see Trevor tonight, that he wanted Trevor to be sent home on pain medication, and to call his office first thing in the morning to get the procedure scheduled for that morning. So, we thought that wouldn't be a big deal to wait until tomorrow morning.

We went home and got through the painful night.
I call the doctor's office the next morning and his nurse tells me that they wont be able to get Trevor in for about two weeks and that was what the urologist specifically told them! I was like are you kidding me???!! I was so pissed, you have no idea. The stupid urologist just told us, the night before, that we would get in that morning and that he would get Trevor getting better, but no....

So i decide to call a different urologist and get him in for an appointment that day. We go in and that urologist tells us that we won't be able to get a procedure scheduled for a couple days. Here is my poor husband in a ton of pain and they tell us that we have to wait a couple of days. So we go home and decide to wait it out on pain medication until we can get the procedure scheduled.

That Saturday, Trevor was taking a nap and I was cleaning down stairs. Out of no where, he yells my name and I go running upstairs panicking. I go up there and see him shaking (i thought he was having a seizure) and he had a fever of 100.4!! I quickly called 911 and the paramedics got there right away. Trevor was then taken to the hospital and we were there yet again... They told us that Trevor was septic, had a really bad kidney infection, his liver was shutting down, his kidneys were shutting down, his white blood cell counts were down, and by this time he had a temperature of a 103. My poor Trevor... We were so sad and devastaed... If only the stupid urologist, from the first night we were there, would have taken him and done the procedure or if he would have taken him the next morning, Trevor would not have been almost dying from a septic kidney infection.

The new urologist that we had, had to call in an emergency team for the next morning and do a procedure by putting a stent through his ureter to relieve the urine and infection that was backed up in his kidney. After the procedure was done, Trevor was feeling ten times better. I was so glad. The doctors in the hospital told us that most people usually die from getting as bad
as Trevor was. THANKFULLY that was not the case. I thank Heavenly Father everyday.

We were there for a couple more days and then they finally sent us home after his infection was under control. Now we have to go through three more procedures in order for Trevor to get better. One was just done today and that was to blast the biggest kidney stone. The second will be to blast the second kidney stone and the third will be to take the the stent out. Hopefully after that last procedure, we will be done for a long time!

Trevor just coming out of the first procedure when they put the stent in.

Trevor getting an EKG.

This was the worst night ever... Second time being back in the hospital. We couldn't sleep at all this night because he was so miserable, as you can tell...

The second time being back in the hospital :(

Trevor was growing a beard in the hospital so
he thought it would be funny to just shave everything else and keep a mustache! It grossed me out haha. i couldn't stand it and made him shave it as soon as we got home. :)

Trevor has been through so much these last couple of weeks and it was so hard to sit there and watch him go through it all. Tears would fill my eyes and my heart would sink every time I would even look at him. It made me so sad to see him go through what he did. I am so proud of my husband and the strong person that he is. He is so good to me and I could not picture being with a better person. Heavenly Father truly has answered my prayers and everyone else's prayers in our behalf. We are truly blessed and I know that our Heavenly Father is watching over us. I love my Trevor and am so glad that I have him back. I was really missing him for a while... Trevor and I are also grateful for all of you that kept us in your thoughts and prayers. It really meant a lot to us!

He Left...

Today, October 20, 2010, my brother Matthew left on his mission. He will be in the MTC for about 2 months while he learns spanish. Then, he will be in Pennsylvania soon after that. Today was a very hard day for our family as we said bye to him at the airport... We know that this is what he is supposed to be doing, but we are really going to miss having him around. I keep noticing little things that remind me of him and I break down and cry because I miss him so much already. I love my little brother and cannot wait to see him again in two years. He is my brother and one of my best friends that I will miss very much over the next couple of years. Make us proud Elder Matthew Austin Gallego! We love you so much and will pray for you everyday! I know it will go by fast...

Rascal Flatts!

Trevor and I got to go to the Rascal Flatts concert on Friday night! Let me tell you.... IT WAS AMAZING!! I saw them about three yers ago, in concert, and about died. So when I found out that they were coming again, I about peed my pants. I absolutley LOVE Rascal Flatts. They have been my favorite country band for forever. The thing that I also love about them is that they sound so good live! I hate going to concerts and hearing a band sound completley different from what they sound like on the radio or their CD. That isn't the case with Rascal Flatts. Compare one of their live performances to a song on their album and you will not be able to tell a difference! I was so glad Trevor was able to come with me this time. Last time I went, Trevor had just left on his mission about a month before they came... So he missed out! He loved them too and we both agree that they are the best performers LIVE! I am kind of bummed though because my stupid camera on my phone wouldnt take any good pictures so I don't have any!

I forgot to mention.... That night, our night turned from completley awesome to a compltete WRECK! Before the concert we decided to park our car in a parking lot right next to Cricket Pavilion because we didn't want to get stuck in traffic when the concert was over. So we totally thought we scored with an awesome parking spot and no traffic latter on. Little did we know, our plan wasn't a very good plan after all. After the concert was over, we started walking back to our car, before anyone else, to beat the traffic. As we start walking around the corner, my heart started to pound because I did not see our car! We looked around and made sure that was where we parked and it definitley was! I was so scared that someone had stolen it since we were way out in downtown Phoenix... But then we noticed a stupid little sign at the top of a light pole that said "This is a Towing Zone. Do not Park here." Come on.. Seriously?? They had to make that sign so little and stick it so far up on the light pole so we couldn't see it! When we were looking around, we noticed that like EIGHT other people got their cars towed too. It was like the towing truck sat there and watched us all park and then towed our cars right when we left! We were pretty mad, let me tell you... So we call the number on the sign and the lady on the other end tells us that we cannot pick up my car until tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.!!! Seriously I wanted to cry... It was like 11:30 p.m. and we were stuck in downtown Phoenix with a bunch of crazy drunk people and I just wanted to get home. We started calling our family members and no one would answer the stupid phone! Finally, we got a hold of one of a really good friends, Bret, and he came and got us. By the time Bret came and got us and drove us home, it was now 1:30 in the morning and by the time we got to bed it was 2 a.m. Trevor was supposed to work the next day at 5 a.m.! Ha yeah right... I made him call in and tell them he couldn't come in. There was no way he would make it to work that early.

Some advice... make sure to always look around before you park some where or you will live the nightmare we were in! :)

An Update on Our Lives!

It has been WAY too ling since I have updated our blog... A lot has happened since the last time I really updated.

Trevor took his DAT and did totally AWESOME! So after he completed it, we decided to take off to Newport Beach, California for some fun in the sun. We left our babies with my parents and got away for a couple of days. Like always, the vacation went by WAY too fast... Pretty depressing I must say... As soon as we got home, Trevor and I had to start school again. BOO!! So we had some fun while it lasted! Here are some pictures from the trip!

Trev and I on the Hunnington Pier being silly

Also, our baby Bella is growing up so fast! I cannot even believe how big she has gotten since we got her in May. Her and, my other baby Tia, are the cutest puppies ever! They keep me company when I am home alone and Trevor is gone. Bella's new thing right now is to bark at every little sound she hears! It was funny at first, but not it is has just gotten really annoying haha. She likes to chew on everything! And, I mean, every little thing she can find! Another thing that she loves to do is to grab her dog bowl (while there is food still in it) and dump it out so that she can run around and chew on the bowl! It is actually really cute and funny to watch! So I cannot get mad at her for it. :) She also loves to have staring wars with Trevor right now. The FUNNIEST thing ever. It is actually quite entertaining for me as well! Bella will sit and stare at Trevor, waiting for the perfect moment to grab his nose or anything in sight on his face. Before she attacks, she lifts her upper lip, to show her teeth, and then pounces on Trevor's face! I know it sounds like it hurts my husband, but really he does it is because it is so funny to watch her do it and he doesn't care! It is seriously so funny... Makes my days! My other dog Tia, is still my little cuddler and is always so sweet to us. She loves long car rides with her face out the window of the car. It is hilarious to watch... She puts up with a lot from Bella's playing and biting at her poor legs. But I know they both love having each other around when we are not home. :) Here are some pics.

Car ride with Tia. Hilarious... LOVE the tongue!

Bella loves to sit on my shoulders in the car to be in the nice cool air

On another note, my brother, Matthew, just got his mission call to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - spanish speaking mission!
He reports on Ocotber 20th, which is so soon! He is way excited to get out there and serve the lord. Matthew is the first person, from my side of the family, to serve a mission. So, he is way excited and so is our family! We will all miss him, but we all know this is where he is meant to be for two years!

These last couple of months, we have been sucked into the show, Prison Break. Seriously, I do not think we have ever had so much anxiety before in our lives! It is really a good show, but sometimes I wish we did not even start watching it! It is so addicting and every episode is crazy! Our weekend, now, consists of Prison Break every night and eating ice cream! haha. We are in the last season and are anticipating what is going to happen next...

Let's see... What else has happened in the last couple of months... Our lives, basically, consist of working all the time and going to school every day. Sucky... We barley see each other during the week because of our schedules, so we live for the weekends to be with one another! Trevor is getting ready to start dental school applications, so that he can start applying to get into schools. He will finish his degree, which will take about another year to complete. It is scary to think that he is almost there! WEIRD. I am working on my paralegal degree and trying to get done soon too! We are both doing really well in school and are crossing our fingers that we continue to keep doing well. ha.

The last thing that I want to talk about is my sweet husband. Here are the things I LOVE about him:

- Always makes me smile

- He loves me no matter what

- His pretty blue eyes and his smile

- Hard worker

- Watches chick flics with me

- Lets me win at about everything ;)

- Takes me to the temple

- Helps me around the house

- Does little things to make me happy

- Tells me he loves me every day

- Stong in the gospel

- Takes me on dates

- Helps me feel better no matter what

- He is going to be a great daddy some day

- And the list goes on!
I love this boy so much! Thank you hunny for all that you do. You really are the BEST ever...

Amanda's Wedding!

I totally forgot to blog about this special event! We went up to Utah about a month ago to see one of my best friends get married! Congrats Amanda Julie Hallsted! I love you! She was a beautiful bride and her whole day was amazing! The weather was so cold up there so it was nice to get away from the heat for awhile! Anyways, we ran into someone from Trevor's mission as well on temple square! So he was really excited to talk with her. I love watching him talk Portuguese with other people. I think it is so cool! i wish i could speak another language like he can. It is very fascinating. Well, We were only there for a couple of days and then came home because we had to work... BOOO.... We wish we could have stayed longer.... But we are so glad we were able to go and see them sealed. I love going to sealings. They are the best ever! Here are some pics from the Trip!

The Temple

This is like the fourth of a million posts i have posted today but i could not forget this important place! The temple is the best place in the whole entire world. It means so much to me and i just feel the feel spirit so strong every time i go. Trevor and I were able to go Friday night and i could just feel Heavenly Father's love for me so strong. This special place makes me so happy... I am so glad that i can be with my family and husband forever because of the temple. It truly is the best place to be.

I HATE BUGS

So i pretty much HATE any type of bug with a passion... Ask Trevor, i freak out about bugs. They seriously creep me out and they are so gross... So i had a wonderful experience this past Sunday with bugs. Yeah definitely not wonderful at all. You will probably want to puke after reading what happened to me. I almost did.
So we just got out of sacrament and headed over to the primary room for opening exercises with our seven year old class. I went and sat down by the kids. A little boy in our class named Logan said "Umm... Alyssa you have a bug in your hair." At this moment i was just expecting a little bug but when i placed my hand on my head it was a COCKROACH!!!! I freaked out and threw it off my head and really couldn't believe that that just had happened to me. It was the most disgusting thing EVER!!!! All the kids, of course, started laughing at me... Someone finally killed it and that put me at peace. Did i mention that i really hate bugs?? Yeah i thought i did. So the Primary president comes up to me and she said that cockroaches climb the walls all the time in that room and that i must had leaned against the wall and it climbed on me. I will never make that mistake ever again in that primary room that is all i can say ha.

Scariest Thing Ever...

So on Friday pretty much the worst thing happened to me. It makes me want to cry even thinking about it... So i wake up and getting ready work on Friday morning. i am just about the leave out the door when i had a feeling to look down at my wedding ring. As i looked down at it i screamed and started shaking... My middle big diamond was GONE!!!! I stared at my finger for about 2 minutes trying to figure out if i was dreaming or if this was actually really happening to me!! Sadly, it was not a dream. It had fallen out some where and i had no idea where it was!!! I seriously was freaking out crying and running around the house frantically looking for it. I searched and pulled my bed apart, searched my carpets and bathrooms and everywhere i could think of!! I prayed and prayed and prayed that i would find the diamond. I searched for about an hour which felt like a year and did not find anything... I thought it was gone forever... As tears filled my eyes again with disappointment and sadness, i decided i would kneel down again and say another prayer. After i was done praying, i had an overwhelming feeling that i needed to go search my bathroom floor one more time. I went into the bathroom and on the floor was my diamond to my ring! I started to cry tears of happiness and gave thanks to my Heavenly Father for answering my prayers! I am so grateful that i found my diamond and that my prayers were answered. I love my Heavenly Father and the love he has for me.

San Fransisco

We were able to attend a little family reunion in San Fransisco a couple of weeks ago. Well we actually stayed in Sanoma for most of the time and then went into San Fransisco for a day to see everything. Sanoma was beautiful. Trevor's grandpa got everyone together to come down for his 70th birthday. We arrived at his grandpa's house i was really knowing what to expect because i had never been to Sanoma or his house before. Trevor told me it would be a little different. So we show up and his house totally looks like Tia Rosas! haha it was seriously like being in a Santa Fe Restaurant. They have such a cool style. Pretty much what we did in California is eat, rent vespas, eat again, site see around the city, eat some more, go to china town, eat a little more, get sun burned, eat even more, take family pictures, hike, oh and did i mention that we ate? We seriously ate non stop. Trevor's grandparents love to eat and plan meals. We seriously would just be done eating dinner and grandpa would ask us right after what should we eat for the next meal and we would all just laugh. haha it was great. I felt like i gained like a 100 pounds after leaving his house. Oh funny story... So when we were in the San Fransisco for a day we met a lot of crazy people. We stopped at a McDonald's to go pee and would not believe what happened to us... We were sitting down waiting for everyone to get done doing what they had to do and this old homeless man came in with all of his stuff. He comes to sit down by us and totally wips out a box with a ton of cocaine in it. He then proceeds to snort it right in front of us in McDonald's. Can you believe that! It was seriously disgusting. I could not believe it was happening ha. Trevor got asked, as we were walking in McDonald's if he had some LSD too ha. San Fransisco has a ton of crazy people down there. It was really a fun trip and we just loved being together. The next family trip is planned for New York and we cant wait! I have never been and i have wanted to go for so long... We will see if we really actually go! i sure hope so! Here are some pics from the trip. I will put some better ones up as soon as i get them from my mother in law. These ones are from my phone and are pretty crappy.

Trevor got a mad farmer's tan from riding the vespas all day! He wasn't too happy about it haha.
Trevor in a big (i think alligator mouth) in San Fran
There were a million seals in a bay in San Fran. It was so funny to watch them!
Trev and I out by the bay in San Fran. It was always freezing by the water! other than that it was super hot..
Us again in San Fran on the side walk
There were these cool robot guys all painted up on the side walks doing weird dances which was so cool! They looked liked actual robots!
Okay this was the funniest thing ever... We were walking across the street in China town when like a 90 year old lady grabbed Travis's arm and asked him to walk her across the street. She reminded me of the grandma from Mulan ha.
Me on my cute PINK vespa that we rode around the pretty vineyards and the city of Sanoma

If you haven't checked this out yet i suggest you do... Seriously such a funny website. Go to www.peopleofwalmart.com and you will see why i find this site so amusing. haha It is so true about what kind of people you run into at Walmart! I love it! You will find the funniest things on this website. I think it is hilarious and ridiculous that people will actually go out in public like this. What are they thinking??

Happy Anniversary to Us...

I cannot believe it has already been one year since i was sealed to my best friend for time and all eternity. It really was the best day of my life. He is such a wonderful husband and i couldn't have asked for a better guy. He really does so much for me and makes me feel so special everyday! I wish we could go back and get married all over again because our wedding day was so much fun! My parents on both sides, families, and friends did such a wonderful job to make our day so special. It was absolutely PERFECT!

Last night for our anniversary, Trevor took me to the place he asked me to marry him for dinner. We also went on a gondola ride. It was like our engagement night all over again. We ended the night with Yogurtland (our favorite) and seeing Iron Man 2! That movie was so awesome. What a great way to end a perfect night! Everything was amazing and he did a wonderful job planning everything. :)

I cannot wait for many more years to come with my loving husband. He is the love of my life and i couldn't live without him. I love you Trevor Scott Nichols with all my heart and thank you for all you do and the love you have for me....

Pictures from our Wedding Day...

We opened our wedding cake, that we froze for a year, and decided we would smash the cake in each others faces again. :)

My Early Anniversary Surprise!

Let me just start off by saying that Trevor is THE best husband in the world and spoils me way too much! So here is how the story goes... I have been wanting a new puppy for about a year now and we weren't finding any great deals on any Yorkie puppies. Yorkie puppies are my FAVORITE and i didn't want to settle for any other puppy. So i wasn't really thinking about getting a puppy anytime soon. One day this week i decided that i needed to look on craigslist to see if there were any postings on a new Yorkie puppy. the first posting i saw was for a 10 week old Yorkie puppy! Exactly what i wanted!! So i immediately emailed the lady with the puppy and never got a response.... I then later looked the next day on craigslist to see if the posting was still there but it had been taken off.. i was devastated but just put it behind me. A lady at Trevor's work told us that she would be selling Yorkie puppies in the next 7 weeks so i got excited for that and just thought we would go look at puppies then. Little did i know, Trevor was planning something behind my back!

On Tuesday night i got a call from Trevor at work asking me to get work on Wednesday morning because he had a surprise to take me too and that it was the only day and time to do it and that it was an early anniversary present. (i seriously had no clue it was a
puppy because 1st of all i thought the one i wanted was sold and 2nd of all i didn't think we could get another puppy for another 7 weeks from that lady)

So we are driving the next morning on the way there, with me in anticipation on where the heck we were going. We arrive at a Starbucks in Chandler and i was a little confused. Trevor told me we were meeting someone there and that we had to wait for her. the lady finally pulled up in her car and when she started to walk towards us, she was holding the 10 week old baby Yorkie! I seriously was ecstatic and couldn't believe Trevor had really got her for me!

The first buyer fell through on the puppy and the lady had emailed Trevor back and not me because Trevor wanted to surprise me! Let me tell you, i
t definitely was a SURPRISE!!! So happy early anniversary to us! I named her Bella and we just love having her... I love My husband and the wonderful things he does for me to make me happy. :)
